Sunday Rides
Our Sunday rides are the main activity of the club. We usually run three rides of different levels and full details of upcoming rides can be found on the club calendar. If you wish to try out a club ride please contact us and arrange to come along to one of our rides. The three rides we run on a Sunday all start from the Link Road Car Park (where parking is FREE on Sundays) in Great Missenden at 8.30am and are detailed below.
Paolo's guide to some of our popular ARCC routes is at http://ridewithugo.xtreemhost.com/arccrides.html
Sam's Guide to Friction Free Riding can be viewed or downloaded here
If you have any doubt about whether a ride will be on or not please e-mail sam@amershamrcc.co.uk - preferably 24 hours prior to the ride.

Steady Ride
The steady Sunday ride tends to cover between 40 and 50 miles. We ride at an average speed of around 12 - 13 mph and stop at a cafe around half distance. Riders should be able to ride at least 30 miles in 2.5 hours on their own before joining this ride though we will always ride at the speed of the slowest rider.
Moderate Ride
The moderate Sunday ride is significantly faster than the steady ride and covers 50 - 60 miles. Riders should be able to ride 50 miles in 3.5 hours on their own before joining this ride. The terrain tends to be quite hilly, this is the Chilterns after all, but the ride will regroup at the top of each climb for those who are slightly slower on the hills.
Hard Ride
The hard Sunday ride often covers in excess of 60 miles and frequently takes extremely hilly routes. The average speed can vary between 15 and 20 mph depending on the terrain so this is not a ride for the faint-hearted. Riders will be invited to join the hard ride when they are considered to be ready. All riders new to Sunday rides should start with the steady or moderate group depending on their ability.
Saturday Rides
The rides start from Annie Baileys, on the Chesham Road outside Great Missenden, where parking is available in two laybys, at 1.30pm each Saturday.

Wednesday Rides
Our Wednesday evening rides are run during the summer months to give us another chance to get out on our bikes. As we're keen to get as many miles in as possible before it gets dark they can be very fast, though there are sometimes enough riders for a steadier group as well. Riders arrive at the Pednor Loop, just outside Chesham, between 6.00pm and 6.30pm and get in as many laps as they want or can before it gets dark. Riders are welcome to arrive earlier or later and join in with other riders as they wish.
